How looking in the mirror teaches us our “who” and our “do” – and some big news about Jen on FB Live starting March 21

“How did becoming a Christian change your life?” her sweet, innocent voice asks, the telephone line connecting me to California.

“That’s a good question,” I answered Grace, our niece whose name means all things beauty.

“Becoming a Christian taught me my “who” and my “do,” I finally answer, relieved when I can put words to such a life change.

As I say in Beautiful Lies

“I used to think the mirror was a perfect reflection, but now I know it couldn’t be. It’s always changing.”

This world has so many mirrors. They play tricks on us. Do we look at people to tell us who we are? Does the reflection in the bathroom mirror tell the truth or does it lie? Do the stars, as they stand upon the world’s stages, tell us who women really are? What is true about women? What is beautiful anyway?

Maybe beauty is about how fiercely we love those within our reach.

What is our “who”?

and what is our “do”?

These are the subjects I’ve written for; these are the essential questions we all must answer.

I have this new woman in the office on Tuesdays. Her name is Ana. She’s brilliant, bright, unafraid. She’s an immigrant from Cuba and she comes every wonderful Tuesday, bubbly and sure of herself as the morning comes.

Ana has an idea.

Jen’s going to do Facebook Live Bible Studies this year.

Now that’s pushing my “who” into my “do,” isn’t it? Because people are committing atrocities on Facebook Live and one woman can speak life into that crazy, dazy world.

It would be much easier to write a book than to actually live it. But I’m not going to settle for knowing who I am in Jesus until I share the mystery and the magic with women who are looking at men, mirrors, and magazines and getting all messed up about their worth.

Starting March 21 at 10:30 am CST, I’d love for you join us as we study Beautiful Lies on Facebook Live. There will be recorded videos, interactive videos, and you can get your book and Bible study here.

Women, our “do,” and our “who,” live, for 10 weeks.

Join me as we look away from the mirrors that ever-changing and look instead into the One Mirror that never lies.

To join our FB community (and remind me I’m not alone here) “like” the You are MORE FB page, where you’ll logon each week starting March 21 . . . . Click here to grab your book and Bible study and we’ll get you everything you need to begin the journey, every Tuesday morning at 10:30 am CST from March 21 – May 30.

It’s all about the who.

And all about the do.

I hope you’ll join us!
